I believe he wrote books for everyone, whether you are eighty three or four years old. Thank you Dr Seuss for your gift, your humour, your drawings, your wit and your words. Thank you for brightening and illuminating this crazy thing we call life.
“I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living.”

On 29 January 1997 Clown Doctors started working at Sydney Children’s Hospital in Randwick, Sydney. The Humour Foundation now have 55 Clown Doctors working in 20 hospitals around Australia. Happy Birthday to us! Congratulations to Leonie Leonard, Dr B. Looney, Dr Fruit-Loop, Dr Sniggles and Dr Nutcase, everyone at HF and all the other wonderful Australian Clown Doctors past and present spreading joy to families in times of immense stress. Sometimes we meet people on the worst day of their lives and we try to find a way to bring the sunshine out again. When I think of our work I am reminded of the Maya Angelou quote, “Be a rainbow in someone else’s cloud.”

Dr. Martin Luther King Junior. King was the chief spokesman for non violent activism in the civil rights movement.
“A nation that continues year after year to spend more money on military defense than on programs of social uplift is approaching spiritual doom.”
Stevie Wonder says it all in this song.
December 18 birthdays
Posted: December 18, 2011 Filed under: Birthdays, LOVE | Tags: BRAD PITT, CHRISTINA AGUILERA, December 18 birthdays, KEITH RICHARDS, school holidays 2 CommentsKeith Richards and Christina Aguilera were born today. And so was my dream husband Brad Pitt. Keith is too haggard from smack, and Christina too shrill, so it’s Brad for me.
Today also marks the start of long summer school holidays. To stave off boredom while watching my children trash the house, I imagine I am a lithe sprite running down a Caribbean beach chased by Brad Pitt. In the midst of my reverie, my youngest hits me in the face with a nude Ken doll. After I threaten to send Ken and his girlfriends to the local op shop she runs away to her giggling sister. Back on the couch it is no longer a daydream, it has become my reality. Brad Pitt is still chasing me, but Jen is chasing him as Angelina aims a shotgun at all of us. Brad wants me bad. He’s only human…

SCOTT FITZGERALD, Fozzie Bear, JIM HENSON, Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, September 24 Birthdays, The Great Gatsby, The Muppet Show, The Muppets Leave a commentTwo brilliant men were born today – Jim Henson and F. Scott Fitzgerald . The Muppets were a huge part of my childhood. I wanted to be Miss Piggy. I still do.
F. Scott Fitzgerald died young, leaving fine books for the world to enjoy. My favourite is The Great Gatsby, set in the golden days of the Jazz Age.
Gatsby believed in the green light, the orgastic future that year by year recedes before us. It eluded us then, but that’s no matter — tomorrow we will run faster, stretch out our arms farther…. And one fine morning —
So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.

TODAY’S STARS are MAMA CASS, TWIGGY and GEORGE CADBURY
This morning I ate a kilo of chocolate in honour of Mama Cass and George Cadbury. But I gave up ham, because it killed poor Mama. Apparently this is an urban myth, but I wish Mama Cass had shared her chocolate with Twiggy.
Today also happens to be International Talk Like A Pirate day. Which fills my heart with gladness. What do you get when you cross a pirate with a robot?
RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR 2D2
